The tour was a good value; we were out having fun from 8:30 until almost 2. A van came to pick us up in the morning and drove us safely to Barranquilla, where we met the man who paddled us through the mangroves. Aura and Cesar speak perfect English and translated the local guide's knowledge of the mangroves for us. We learned about the different types of mangrove trees and birds, then stopped at a local fish farm and listened to music. I also learned how to throw a fishing net!

At the end, we went to the beach for an amazing lunch — fresh crabs, fish, coconut water, and coconut rice (included).

Most of all, it's an opportunity to get out of the Cartagena "bubble" and experience how people actually live. If you like ecotourism, sustainable travel, and escaping the "tourist traps," you'll love this tour.

Cesar is an excellent guide!! He has a large knowledge about the history of the City. If you go to Cartagena, you cannot miss this tour!!
